Southwest Suburban Conference (SWSC) Predictions-Blue Division

Blue Division Predictions
Bolingbrook
Lockport
Joliet
Lincoln-Way Central
Lincoln-Way East
Sandburg

Bolingbrook looks to win in a tough Blue Division. They will be led by recent transfer Diamond Taylor, who has already committed to Wisconsin. Senior Troy Snyder, who has offers from Northern Illinois and UIC, also looks to lead the team. Junior guard Antoine Cox will also get some good playing time this year.

Coming off a 4th place finish at State, Lockport looks to continue their success this year. It will not be easy, as they will be losing all 5 of their starters, including team leaders, Justin Jarosz and Brian Bradley. Landon Gamble (6'5") will be expected to make large contributions , as he is the only Junior with Varsity experience. Look for a breakout year from Gamble.

Joliet will also contend behind Bolingbrook and Lockport, as they will be led by the 6'5" Junior Anthony Shoemaker, who is rumored to be coveted by Illinois. Senior Tyrell Kelly will also be a team leader for the Steelmen.

Coach Matt Smith looks to lead the young Lincoln-Way Central Knights. Returning Varsity players include Eric Hockberger and Larry McMullin. Juniors Jim Watson and Sam Mampe may also see playing time. Emerging Sophomore Caleb Cook could also sneak in for some minutes. The Knights will sorely miss the inside presence of graduating senior Jordan Miller and the guard play of Alex Adams and Trevor Branyik.

Lincoln-Way East will also regress, following the graduation of star guard John Lorentz, who will be playing baseball at Michigan. Big man Derek Severson will also be missed. The only thing going right now for the Griffins is their height, as both Seniors Matt Marquez and Jon Bartlett are over 6' 6"

Although they may perform well on the baseball diamond or the wrestling mat, the Sandburg Eagles will not extend this success to the basketball court. The Eagles will sorely miss 6' 8" big man, Matt Toth, and will have trouble performing this year. Look for this to be a rebuilding year for the Eagles.
