Thornton looks to dominate the SICA East and is one of the top teams in the State. They will be led by Senior guards Jamal Gray and Darrell Robinson and forward Travell Rivers, as well by sophomore guard Jay Parker. Richie Thompson is another top senior for Thornton. Junior Reggie Smith is considered to be one of the top players in the Class of 2010 and is a surefire Division 1 prospect. However, there have been rumors of a possible transfer out of Thornton to a school in the city by Smith. Look for great things to come for the Wildcats this season, especially if Reggie Smith does not transfer.
After Thornton, T.F. South looks to lead the rest of the pack in the SICA East. It will be tough to repeat another 20+ win season, as star forward Paris Carter has graduated and guard Rajsaun Thompson has transferred to Bloom. Look for Junior Mike Johnson to be a leader on a young Rebels team.
Thornwood also hopes for a successful year in the SICA East. Seniors Arthur Wiley and Joseph Hughes look to replace Nate Green, Bryan Smith, and Glenn Lewis, who all graduated last year. Juniors Raymond Steward and Chris Lockheart also look to make meaningful contributions for the Thunderbirds.
T.F. North looks to stay on top of Thornridge in the East. They will have a tough time, due to the graduation of guards Chris Murray, Chris Chapman, and Chazmon Carney. Junior Shawn Montgomery looks to lead the young Meteor team.
Thornridge tries to rebound after a disappointing 2007-08 campaign. They will be led by Seniors A.G. Grant and Lamar Graham. Look for junior Scrocese Stevenson to be a surprise sleeper for the Falcons.

how can you mention thornton and not talk about Jay Parker. he is obviously the best guard they have and is also a surefire D1 prospect.
